Raised in Oklahoma and Texas, the "Western experience" was a part of Lynn Bostick’s life, family, and history. Her paternal lineage is of Cherokee descent and her maternal side was early Texas settlers. Rodeos and pow wows were a part of the artist’s childhood.
Bostick pays homage to the people and landscapes of the west by vividly recreating vintage images of real individuals who played a role in defining our common Western heritage. Most paintings are based on Native Americans photographed by Edward S. Curtis.
