Waiting for Godot

We are revitalizing that tradition with this production presented by our first resident company since The Fort Worth Theatre operated at the W.E. Scott Theatre in the late 70’s. Led by the Community Art Center’s new Production Manager, Jason Leyva and a local troupe of Texas performers, including AEA members, with Samuel Beckett’s WAITING FOR GODOT.

Jason Leyva said, “After years of serving as the incubator for fledgling theatrical organizations who have grown into some of DFW’s reputable theaters, we are once again going back to our roots and investing in our theatrical community through reviving The Fort Worth Community Theatre. I am proud to be a part of celebrating the history of our facility’s legacy by enriching our community through performance art and building a platform for new talents to emerge. Our goal is to fuse the expertise of Actors Equity Association professionals with some of the finest community theatre talents in Fort Worth that will foster opportunities to someday springboard these actors onto the national stage. We are positioning the Fort Worth Community Arts Center to achieve an invitation to join the prestigious League of Resident Theaters and to expand professional opportunities to the region.”

Karen Wiley, President of the Arts Council of Fort Worth said: “The arts in Fort Worth continue to thrive on its rich traditions. New and exciting initiatives that provide opportunities for our performing artists are always welcome and doing so with the revival of the beloved Fort Worth Theatre makes it all the more special.”
