Thinking Like a Mountain:
Photography by George Bristol
June 3 – June 29, 2011
Somewhere in my gene pool is a triggering mechanism that prompts and then allows me to pursue several tasks at the same time. Regardless of my day work, which is rewarding in and of itself, I have always found time and the need to find a time to step aside and recharge.
Photography, poetry and the solitude of Glacier national Park have been the constants in my quest for peace, although I’ve found many over avenues and venues of momentary satisfaction. The greatest joy is when I have the opportunity to combine two or all of the constants. For that moment, hour or day, I am absorbed and at peace. And that peace carries me through until the next break in the action.
On display here at the FWCAC is a sampling of those moments of Glacier National Park, as well as other venues of momentary capture. –George Bristol
