That Dog Don't Hunt

That Dog Don't Hunt

July 8, 2011 – August 27, 2011

What does working a 9 - 5 office job have in common with General Sherman's March to the Sea? What about the Trail of Tears, heavy-metal music, Mickey Mouse, Bart Simpson, fluorescent lights, extension cords, fingerprints and hijacked airplanes? Are all of these subjects related or completely autonomous? These questions drive my recent paintings, drawings and installations.

I am interested in artworks that require a viewer's presence and political ideology to properly function. Each viewer, with their own socio-political baggage, creates their own meaning and experience of the work.

These working methods aim to achieve two main goals: Create an intense visual experience; and keep just enough information from the viewer to foster an environment of purely unique interpretations. -- Timothy Harding
