Mimetic Architecture

May 7, 2010 – June 19, 2010

These drawings and videos share some common meanderings on our perception of objects; that some become agreed upon symbols while others are hotly debated, with groups attempting to control and define meaning. How a highly structured living thing is transformed into useful products that are completely open-ended in their final state. Questions on if an object maintains its ‘sameness’ by the constant replacement of particles and cells, or the removal from its natural state. How objects and space change in time; that they exist as both spatial and temporal parts and how that may look if we were able to extend our view beyond three dimensions. - Dan Rule
