McMurry University presents 100 Women, 100 Words
August 9 – August 30, 2013
Each woman represented in the exhibit was asked to create an image, using the media of her choice on a 6-by-6-inch canvas. The image is accompanied by a 100-word statement explaining the piece.
Christina Wilson, dean of the School of Arts and Letters and associate professor of music, came up with the idea and collaborated in 2011 with Mary Buzan, an English professor. They got the word out to a core group of women, and those women suggested other names to invite. The result is a display of more than 100 brightly colored canvases and short essays.
