Journey to Recovery Through the Artist's Eye: An exhibition in honor of and inspired by the MHMR Pine Street Recovery Center

May 8- 30, 2015

TEN ARTISTS FROM FORT WORTH ART VENUES EXPLORE RECOVERY THROUGH ART

In late January 2015, a group of artists connected to Paulos Properties’ art-based venues and studio locations in Fort Worth, Lancaster Lofts, Race Street Studios, and WoCA Projects were asked to convene at the Pine Street Recovery Center in Fort Worth to learn about its mission and architectural spaces. The result, Journey to Recovery Through the Artist’s Eye, is an exhibition of works inspired by the lives of men and women who shared their journey through addiction to sobriety at the Pine Street Recovery Center. The exhibition will be on view at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76107 through May 30th.

Journey to Recovery will feature the work of ten artists: Charles Coldeway, Kim Collins, Mason Cox, Nicole Dane, Tosca Engisch, Jan Ayers Friedman, Rose Marie Mercado, Janet Morrow, Gary Norman, and Gloria Sepp.

The MHMR Visions Foundation will select works to be permanently installed in the Pine Street Recovery Center. The exhibition and purchase of these works has been generously sponsored by Flora Alexandra Brewer and the Paulos Foundation.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, May 8th, 2015 from 6-9p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
