FWPA: Norie Sato & Chisholm Trail Parkway

FWPA: Norie Sato & Chisholm Trail Parkway

Friday May 3, 2013 - Friday June 28, 2013

Artist Norie Sato reveals the design process behind her ambitious public art work for the Chisholm Trail Parkway, currently under construction. Large-scale mosaic murals titled Trinity Water Fowl will be installed on six monuments on a new bridge over the Clear Fork near I-30 and University Drive. A series of ten mosaic-clad columnar sculptures titled Trinity Watershed Crossing Markers featuring flora and fauna of the watershed environment will mark the actual points at which tributaries cross under the 8-mile parkway from I-30 to FM 1187. Sato has selected work by local photographers to inspire her designs which will be part of the exhibition. This Fort Worth Public Art (FWPA) project will enhance the visual experience for motorists and celebrate the natural environment through which the Chisholm Trail Parkway traverses.
