– Martha Bean

I have always been awed and inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature and our surroundings. I endeavor to capture the essence of subjects with light with and expression of my sincere feelings for the natural world with many mediums. I want to strive to inspire feelings of drama within the painting. I always look out for the potential subject matter with an interesting composition with movement and elements of positive and negative space; when colors come with it, it is always more exhilarating. I want to pain and show happiness and passion in my work. I put my heart and soul into the painting every moment of the process.

I usually work on several pieces of work concurrently. Some of the oil paintings are drying out for the next glazing, or some of the watercolor paintings are ready for finalizing while I start new pieces. It becomes organized chaos, but the result makes all the hard work worthwhile. –Soon Y. Warren
