Branching Out: A Love of Trees

Branching Out: A Love of Trees

Lisa Davis

November 6 - 28, 2015

I have a passion for creating, through which my goal is to capture beauty, truth and meaning. I work in various media in order to best capture a particular moment or concept and find it quite difficult to stay with one medium for any uninterrupted length of time simply because different media serve different needs for my image making. The purpose of this body of work is to express the importance and beauty of trees – to honor them. Whether expressing a concept such as order or sanctuary or simply paying homage to a specific tree, I let the subject matter inspire my choice of medium.

I am an Artist, Photographer, Teacher, Life Coach and CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher). I teach art classes in Tarrant County and show my art in Texas. I graduated from Texas A & M in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I did graduate work at Texas Women’s, obtained my teaching certificate and taught middle school for ten years before opening a small art gallery in Keller, which I ran for four years. I’m now a freelance teacher, artist and blogger living in Azle with my husband and three dogs. We have a son in college in Boston and a daughter who teaches in Dallas. -- Lisa Davis
