ART X 2: Points of Departure

ART X 2: Points of Departure

Don Wall and Corliss Wall

May 8-30, 2015

My abstract paintings, drawings and mixed media artworks are dominated by nature...they represent both the feeling of being in nature and the colors that are a signature of nature. I create paintings and assemblages that are dominated by the images and colors that surround me each day. These colors and effects can only be seen in the real world…some are representational of the experiences that take my breath away; some are flashbacks to past visual imprints. My ultimate goal is to capture my feelings as I witness these moments by expressing them in both color and movement. My artistic passion, and my goal, is to interpret these natural moments by visually capturing the colors and movements they invoke.

Original oil paintings, mixed media constructions and limited edition prints are available through my website www.realwallart.com as well as galleries throughout the southwest. – Corliss R. Wall

Donald G. Wall has studied classical painting and sculpture throughout the United States. As an artist, he enjoys visually illustrating moments in history, often through the use of allegory. After completing his undergraduate studies in Fine Art at Lamar University, he attended the University of Texas at Austin for his graduate studies. While a student at U.T. he studied classical painting under both Loren Mosley and Robert Fisk. Although he enjoys painting, he is also interested in the art of stone carving and woodcarving utilizing classical hand tools…preferring them to pneumatic power tools. His artistic goal is to figuratively illustrate ideas and images by combining both classical and abstract artistic methods and mediums. Don’s artwork and commissions can be found throughout the United States and around the world, from corporate offices and schools to private homes.
