December 4 - 29, 2015

In December 2015, WoCA Projects has partnered with the Fort Worth Community Arts Center to present its 3rd Annual Juried Artists’ Books Exhibition exploring the diversity within the artist book medium, including both traditional book-binded forms as well as (but not limited to) those works that use books as a reference or metaphor to create other conceptual forms. Examples might explore the interchangeable use of of mixed-media, painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber arts, photography, sculpture, ceramics, sound, film/video, and installations in the creation or referencing of the book form.

WoCA Projects is a non-profit arts organization featuring contemporary artworks by local, national, and international artists working in experimental and underrepresented methods and media through exhibitions and community artist programming. WoCA Projects specializes in the works of women artists of color, and the work of artists ( of all backgrounds) whose work explores diverse methods and realities.

One artist will receive a $500 Purchase Award and their selected work added to the University of North Texas Willis Library's Rare Books Collection, whose diverse and innovative artists' books collection is made accessible for students, faculty, researchers, and the public, and to view in special exhibitions in the 4th floor Reading Room.
