The Fort Worth Community Arts Center presents the Original Work Series, a new theatrical program that provides an outlet for new playwrights to showcase their work and have the opportunity to see their play produced on a professional level.
A panel of theatre professionals reviewed all submissions and select the top picks to receive staged readings in the spring. From these readings, one script will be selected to receive full production for presentation in the fall in the Hardy and Betty Sanders Theatre. Selected work will be presented a royalty and the playwright will take part in the rehearsals and the development of the new work. The Arts Center’s Production Manager will direct the chosen work and the cast will be a blend of equity/non-equity actors.
The Fort Worth Community Arts Center is proud to announce the Original Works Series' inaugural selection for the Original Work Series, Janae Hatchett's New and Improving. Due to stay-at-home orders in march of 2020, the eight readings were held virtually and broadcasted live on the Arts Center's Facebook page. You can watch the 2020 selections below.
