The mission of the EAP is to exhibit contemporary art with a focus on regional artists in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The EAP is interested in individual artist submissions of personal work. These submissions will be reviewed for use in EAP curated exhibits. The EAP is also interested in proposals for curated single artist or group exhibitions. Please note that curators may not be included in their own curated exhibitions. The exhibitions typically run for six weeks with one additional week for installation and one additional week for de-installation.
Proposals from Curators need to include:
- A curator’s statement (no more than two pages in length)
- Resume
- List of artists, including CV and artist statements
- List of works proposed, including approximate number of art works
- Slides of sample art works (clearly labeled with a slide list) or digital images-.jpg
- Support materials, if available, including catalogs, exhibition reviews, etc. addressing artists and/or works (2 max.)
- Estimation of space needed (lineal or square footage)
- Self addressed stamped envelope if you want slides returned
- Exhibition summary
Artists submitting their work for exhibition consideration should include*:
- Request for Exhibition form
- Letter of intent describing proposal of exhibit
- CV & Artist Statement
- 10-20 slides/images of art works**
- Slide/image list including size & medium
- Optional: Support materials, if available, including catalogs, exhibition reviews, etc. (2 max.)
- Optional: Self addressed stamped envelope if you want materials returned
You will be contacted if your work has been selected for exhibition; artwork is reviewed on a bi-annual basis: June and December. Submissions received by the first of the month of the review will be reviewed that month. Images will be kept on file for a maximum of two years. Please feel free to update your submissions, as necessary. *Incomplete submissions will not be considered. **Digital images are accepted on CD in jpeg/jpg format only. Digital images should be labeled with the same title as on the required slide/image list. Images should show a cohesive body of work directly related to the proposed exhibit. For proposals and artists’ works accepted by the EAP, the FWCAC will provide the following: - Press releases
- Mailing of 1000 invitations
- Exhibition checklist that includes pricing if work is available for sale
- Insurance
- Limited installation and deinstallation
- Staffing for the exhibition space
- Small opening reception
Shipping and storage are the responsibilities of the exhibitors. The FWCAC requires a donation of 20 percent on sales resulting from FWCAC exhibitions.
