Preservation is the Art of the City
September 7 - 28, 2013
Preservation is the Art of the City® promotes and supports local studio artists and historic preservation in Fort Worth, Texas. The 48 participating artists, who work in a broad range of media, styles and subject matters, receive 65% of the purchase price of their sold artwork. At least 10 new artists are introduced each year, and a jury assures high quality while maintaining a balance of established and young, emerging artists.
“Stories of the City” is a special preservation-themed category. Popular with both artists and buyers, these works range from wildly abstracted interpretations of the theme to realistic depictions of well-loved Fort Worth landmarks. Another special section is composed entirely of small artworks, which tend to have proportionately smaller prices but are just as beautiful as their larger counterparts.
