Carol Ivey Drawing

This exhibition of drawings from the artist’s studio focuses on her collection of plant materials, bird nests, broken pottery, and includes a group of portrait drawings.

Drawing is for me a means of exploring what I see before me and helps determine the direction a more finished work might go. It's through the act of touching the paper with charcoal and following the eye to feel the rhythm and sense the weight of my subject that reveals its meaning. Drawing is the initial encounter with a chosen subject and a pathway to its understanding. -- Carol Ivey
