The Fort Worth Community Arts Center was established in October 2002 by the Fort Worth City Council, after the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth moved to their new building.  The Council considered several proposals, and selected the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County to manage the building.  The Arts Council established a facility with 2 theatres and 9 galleries, with arts non-profit organizations in offices above the main floor.  The galleries had their first exhibit in April, 2003 with The 39 Hour Show, a large, open community show.  To commemorate the past 10 years of art exhibits, the FWCAC has asked a selection of the greatest artists from those years to contribute one piece to a series of exhibits through March.
