Orphans. The word more often has the connotation of a child or children who have survived the death of both parents. However, the word can also describe one who has suffered the loss of protection or advantage.

The thematic chord that has run through most of my work and that I sense is implicit in the paintings and prints in this exhibition, has much to do with the journeys of the ignoble.
