Ready, Set, Summarize!

I am a senior at the University of North Texas acquiring a BFA in both metals and sculpture. My jewelry is an expression of my admiration for the small and insignificant inhabitants of the world. My jewelry conveys a story and captures a moment in each little bug shrine. The attraction to nature stems from my lack of interest in the modern world, and my appreciation for natures wonders. My two degrees contrast each other in style and size but the subject matter of nature is always present. My jewelry meticulously focuses on preserving and glorifying nature while my sculptures focus on abstracting and breaking down naturalistic emotions. Using recycled materials I am able to translate my thoughts into organic forms in my sculptures. -- Amy Stephens
