NANCY LAMB IS THE FEATURED ARTIST AT NINTH ANNUAL ART SHOW AND SALE
The ninth annual Preservation is the Art of the City® art show and sale will be open to the public from September 9 through 24 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street in the heart of the Fort Worth Cultural District.  More than 200 works of art by regional artists will be exhibited, and every work is for sale at prices ranging from $100 to $10,000.  The show is organized by Historic Fort Worth, Inc., and the presenting sponsors are XTO Energy Inc. and the Star-Telegram.
Preservation is the Art of the City® promotes and supports local studio artists and historic preservation in Fort Worth, Texas.  The 53 participating artists, who work in a broad range of media, styles and subject matters, receive 65% of the purchase price of their sold artwork. At least 10 new artists are introduced each year, and a jury assures high quality while maintaining a balance of established and young, emerging artists.
“Stories of the City” is a special preservation-themed category. Popular with both artists and buyers, these works range from wildly abstracted interpretations of the theme to realistic depictions of well-loved Fort Worth landmarks.  Another special section is composed entirely of small artworks, which tend to have proportionately smaller prices but are just as beautiful as their larger counterparts.

OPENING:The Reception with the Artists on Thursday, September 8 at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center is the only opportunity to preview and purchase the art before the show opens to the public.  Reservations are $100 per person/$75 for HFW members and include valet parking.
Promptly at 6:30 p.m., the Honorary Co-Chairs, art collectors Suzy and Ray Rhodes, will be recognized.  Sponsored cash awards for outstanding artworks will be presented to the winning artists.  The festive evening continues with art sales, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres until 9:30 p.m.
