Fort Worth Legendary rodeo cowgirl Tad Lucas and her daughter, famous trick rider Mitzi Lucas Riley, have been the source of great inspiration to me.  They also have been great examples of living this life with courage, dignity, tenacity and a sense of humor.  The dedication and courage it took to be two of the greatest cowgirls of all time inspires me and has actually encouraged me in my own life as I paint these two intriguing subjects.  My love of vintage photos, paintings and illustrations from our early Western heritage and from the first rodeos influences my interpretation of the original cowgirls and how I hope to capture and honor them in my paintings.  – T.K.
