Paintings by Tom Delaney, winner of the Juror's Choice at the TAC Annual Membership Exhibit.
An enduring national icon, the house has always been a key part of the American dream; as of late, that dream has been compromised for many. The recent national challenges regarding home ownership inspired me to create this series of paintings that focus on the house as a symbol for stability, social station, and security. Solid, generic shapes and neutral colors, along with ambiguous landscapes, serve to equalize the houses, removing any outward sign of status and denying access inside. -- Tom Delaney
