The Cultural Center of the Americas in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate will be celebrating two major historical events: The Bicentennial of the Mexican War of Independence of 1810, as well as The Centennial commemorating the Mexican Revolution of 1910. The highlighted event will be the exhibit Arte de Oaxaca - The Patricia and Juan Ruiz-Healy Collection, with an Opening Reception on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 6:00p.m. at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center at 1300 Gendy St in Fort Worth.

This exhibit brings together 33 art pieces from Oaxaca, Mexico, from Artists such as Francisco Toledo, Sergio Hernandez, Shinzaburo Takeda, Alejandro Santiago, Ruben Leyva, Rodolfo Morales, Cecilio Sanchez, Jesus Urbieta, Jose Villalobos, Victor Chaca and Ronaldo Riojas, who will be here on the night of the opening.

The invitation to join these international celebrations links The Cultural Center of the Americas to the worldwide series of activities. It is the only community based organization that was invited to the long list of international museums. Free to the public.
