Mary Kay Johnson

During a trip to Vietnam three years ago, Mary Kay Johnson admired what she thought was an exquisite landscape oil painting hanging in the living room of a friend she was visiting.  The “painting” however, turned out to be an extraordinary work of silk hand embroidery, fashioned by one of many adult women employed and trained in Dalat, Vietnam. (Each individual piece crafted by these gifted artisans, requires between two weeks to 18 months or longer of painstaking effort to complete.)

Johnson was so enchanted with the skill and beauty of the “embroidery paintings”, she was determined to begin a small import business specifically designed to introduce and share embroidered creations that would literally take one’s breath away.  During the month of February, she will exhibit several silk embroideries considered representative of the finest available anywhere in the world.
