Shinran Blostein

Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Shinran has had a passion for art all of her life. Her eclectic style reflects her interest in combining realism and the abstract:

My paintings are all about infinity and the beauty of nature. I have been particularly inspired by Chinese elements of earth, wood, metal, water, and fire. People are often stirred by these various elemental processes of natural phenomena. I attempt to express my personal reactions to these processes on canvas. I especially resist the temptation to use only a single style in my painting. As you can see in this exhibition, I am always attempting to explore different modes to express the infinite world of natural phenomena. -- Shinran Blostein
