Description: Since 1957, the Junior Woman's Club of Fort Worth has proudly presented a musical all its own -- an original stage show that members write, produce, direct, sing, dance and act in each spring. For its 60th anniversary show, the club is dialing back the clock to its 1956-57 club year for a fictional retelling of how Spring Show came to be. It's set in the mid-'50s, when men ruled the roost, Tupperware ruled the parties, and air-conditioning was an expensive but necessary indulgence. In "Some Like it Cool," we relive the love, sweat and tears it took for Junior Club to put on the very first Spring Show. There's romance, drama and a devastating livestock allergy in this Cowtown original -- but more than anything, there's an uplifting message that when Fort Worth women set their minds to something, roll up their sleeves, and bless their hearts, they can make magic that lasts six decades strong!
